Loading well file data
To load well file data
- Open LOGarc Utilities.
- On the right side of the screen, select the Well File tab.
- Using the explorer tree on the left side of the screen, browse to the folder which contains the required Well files. To search for all files within a folder tree, place a check mark beside Sub Folders.
- Click Display Files. LOGarc Utilities will display a list all the well files found in the specified location
- Ensure the columns are populated with the correct information. Some of the columns (e.g. Source, Donor) are populated from the drop-down lists in the configuration screens. See Configuring LOGarc Utilities. Other columns can be populated manually. For example, a data administrator may enter text into the Comments column to indicate the content of the well file such as Core Analysis – Midale.
- To enter or select a column heading, place your cursor inside the field and then enter the text.
- Select each required well file or click Select All.
- If you want to delete the successfully loaded well files from the original folder, click Delete Originals.
- Click Start LOAD. As the files are being processed, the UWI and Status fields populate accordingly.
- To view the log files for well files that failed to load, open the folder you specified in the Log File tab when you configured LOGarc Utilities. See Configuring LOGarc Utilities.
Populate UWI [comment from folder] file
If the name of the file is created with the format API12345_Comment.ext, the application can read the API/UWI from the file name and use it for loading. It will then read the value after the underscore and add that value to the Comment field.
For example, a Word file with name 35009123450000_GeologicalReport.docx will load to the UWI 35009123450000. Then the Comment field in the Search Results will display that the file is a Geological Report.
